We moved!

SD Training moved to Herring Brook Farm in Pembroke, MA.

I'll be posting pictures from our show season up really soon. Please check back soon!

Show Season has begun!!!

Show season is here!!!! Things are getting busier and busier and we started off our show season on the right path! We got some additions to our team and some major improvements as well! :-)
We started with the Beland Schooling Show in the end of May and our 3 riders did extremely well. Jennifer Fanning debuted in Training Level with Rosie, Caitlin Shepard showed Hinke B for the first time in Training Level and Flairly Apparent (aka Tazz) debuted in the dressage ring ridden by Amanda Yurof. Everyone did very well even with the heat of the day!

After that we had the Heritage Dressage Association show in May. What a busy day! We started with Ellen Park not only debuting in Training Level but also riding a 1st Level test on Pehnryn Royal Banner. She got 2 1st places and a 3rd. She almost got the high score of the show with a 68.5% only beaten by one rider!
Heather Ryan debuted in First Level winning the class with an awesome 62.3% on Hinke B. Caitlin Shepard also rode Hinke B in Training Level.
Rachel Littauer rode Topazio on 2 1st Level Tests getting a 1st and a 2nd and rocked the Freestyle on Tornado with an awesome 62.5%.

This show was Marije's first 3rd Level test showing off her recently learned flying changes. What a good girl. She scored 2 56% tests. Not too bad for a first time! :-) I am so proud of what acheived this Winter. Seems like the hard work is paying off!

Next show will be Beland Schooling on June 7th followed by Heritage Dressage Association on the 28th. I am very excited about both of them. The Beland one we have some newbies showing for the 1st time and the HDA show my trainer and mother will be here. She is arriving on the 15th and staying for 2 weeks so I'll be in bootcamp prior to the show. lol. I am sure my students will love to see that!!! hahah!

I am so proud of everyone and their achievements, not only the award winners but every single one in our group. I can't wait for next season, I assure we will have some nice surprises, including some additions to our team! :-)

We had our annual Halloween Party and it was a blast! Horses and riders were too cute! You can check the pictures out here.

I am very happy to say that our barn will be completely full as of January 1st and we will be creating a waiting list to come in! I want to take the opportunity to welcome our new team members!

One of the new horses is available for a 1/2 or full lease. His name is Premonition and he is a Hanoverian. Very sweet, reliable, quiet guy! He would love to have someone to give some consistency to his work. He is out of shape now, we are slowly bringing him up again, but was trained through 2nd level. If you are interested in knowing more about him please email me.

Sdtraining is also trying to help out the rescue horses at Cedar Oaks Equine Rescue in Plymouth, MA. We are one of the drop off locations for donations. They are in need of anything horse related, blankets, sheets, buckets, hoof picks, anything helps. If you have something you would like to donate please stop by the rescue barn or at Wyn de Mare Stables. Your help is really appreciated!

I think I covered everything. Now that I have my computer up and running again, I will keep the updates current. I wish everyone a wonderful Holiday Season and a warm and cozy winter!

Ellen Park and Banner shine at CRDA

What a busy hot day! Aside from the heat and humidity, it was a beautiful day at the Charles River Dressage Association Schooling Show. It was Ellen Park's turn to shine showing Pehnryn Royal Banner and winning both Introductory classes with the scores of 63% and an amazing 68.5%! Way to go girl!

Rachel Littauer brought Topazio dos Pinhais and got a 1st place with a 56% on First Level Test 1. She also won the Musical Freestyle in the Jrs division and showed tremendous skills riding through adversity and distractions.

The team had 2 new additions: Jennifer Fanning and Abigail Park, both on the leadline classes and both debuting! Jennifer Fanning rode Hinke B and got a 2nd place with a 62%. Abby Park brought Pehnryn Royal Banner and got a 3rd place with 60.8%. Look out for these 2 because they did so well that soon they will be going up to the Introductory class! Well done girls!

It was a good day and I couldn't be more proud of everyone.
Our next show will be Heritage Dressage Association in Hanover so we'll see you there!

Rachel Littauer and Topazio dos Pinhais were the highlight of the Team at the HDA Show

Another successful day to the Dressage Team at the Heritage Dressage Association show in Hanover, MA. With new additions to the team and with both Chrissie Kent and Cathy Zine out of this show for traveling plans, the team performed extremely well. Ellen Park with Pehnryn Royal Banner got a 3rd (62%) on Intro A and a 4th (65.5%) on Intro B. Heather Ryan and Hinke B got a 6th on training 2 (57.5%) and scored 57.2% on Training 4. Shawnessy O'Connel with Jericho got a 3rd on the Equitation class and a 2nd on the Prix Caprilli. Simone scored a 64.37% on the 1st Level Freestyle with Hinke B. But the highlight of the team goes to Rachel Littauer who showed the Lusitano stallion Topazio dos Pinhais in 2 gorgeous tests. It was surreal to see how they connected and how light, smooth and beautiful their relationship is! It was definitely a treat to see their improvement! She got 2 amazing 1st places, with a score of 66.4% on Training 4 and 58% on First Level Test 1. Well done to all riders and horses! Next shows scheduled to our team are: Beland in 2 weeks (only part of the team will be going to that one) and then Charles River Dressage Association on July 22nd with the addition of the leadline kids to the team! :-)

Courtney King's send off party

We were very lucky to attend Courtney King's send off party in New York this last weekend. Courtney is off to the Olympic Trials in California. It was a lovely afternoon. Courtney did a Grand Prix demo with Idocus. While Courtney was warming Idocus up, Lendon Gray explained a little bit about how they got Idocus where he is and what their goals are. It was very interesting! After that, Courtney did her freestyle which was unreal to watch. What a pair! Then Courtney and Mica (Lendon Gray's working student from Argentina) got on 2 andalusians and performed a pas de deux. Beautiful horses! Lendon went on talking about the andalusian breed (PRE's and Lusitanos) and how more attention should be put on the baroque horses since they have such talent for the higher level dressage movements. Courtney has 2 baroques under her training, Timber - a Friesian gelding by Anton and Grandioso - a PRE stallion. The pas de deux was a lot of fun to watch! Following the demos, Courtney came out with Mythilus in hand to meet and greet. Courtney qualified with both horses to the Olympic Trials. Talking to Courtney and Lendon was such a treat as well and all Simone's students got an autographed copy of Lendon's book "Lessons with Lendon".

Courtney is the live example that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
We wish Courtney all the luck and hope to see her competing in China at the Olympics!

Wyn de Mare Dressage Team shines at Heritage Dressage Association

Even the rain could not stop riders and horses from having a real good time this Sunday at Briggs Stables in Hanover for the first show of the season. What a wonderful and successful day! Our team was joined by parents and also supporters from the Wyn de Mare's hunter jumper team who so graciously came down to give us support and you never know, we might convince them to try a dressage show sometime! :-) It was the first show ever for Ellen Park with her recently purchased pony Penrhyn Royal Banner and Christine Kent who rode Hinke B and they did beautifully! Ellen got a 3rd place on Intro A (64.5%) and an unreal 1st place on Intro B (60%) among a very big class of 10 competitors. Christine Kent got 2 1st places on Intro A and B with scores of 62% and 61.5%. You go girls! What a debut! Cathy Zine and Marije did an amazing job on both Training Level Test 1 and Test 3 showing a lot of energy, and let's say a LOT of energy! Hahaha! Awesome job handling a very hot Friesian and showing awesome riding skills. They got a 1st (60%) and a 2nd (55.2%). Unfortunately a pulled muscle on her mount Topazio dos Pinhais took Rachel Littauer off this show but she was there to support and help everyone out and we could not have done without her! She is my very important assistant!!! Topazio will recover fast and they will be showing next time full force! Hinke B did her first First Level Test ever and debuted in a lovely Freestyle despite the technical sound difficulties! She got an amazing 74% score! That's my girl! Marije enjoyed herself and danced to the music on a 2nd Level Freestyle with a 64.79% score! I have no words to say how proud I am of everyone, riders and horses. Everyone improved so much from last year! And last but not least it was a joy to see such a supportive and happy group! I just can't wait for the next show! Amy Cody from Studio Equus was there photographing the event, check her website for proofs!
