I'm very pleased to announce that as of July 22nd SDTraining will be relocating to a new home. Milestone Farm in Marshfield will be changing ownership to SDTraining's partner, Deborah Hennessey. The facility will be known as "Dare to Dream Stables" and I will be managing the farm. This is extremely exciting news for Deb, our current clients and myself. We are all counting the days! The farm will be accepting new boarders as of August 1st. We look forward to seeing you all.

The SDTraining Team of Young Riders shone at Lendon's Youth Dressage Festival at the HITS in the Hudson, Saugerties, NY. Mariana Andrade and Gabriela Daiello joined the team from Brazil, travelling all this distance to compete at the show. Both riders are my mother and trainer's students at my family's stables in Brazil. This was the first step of our exchange program that we are planning on putting together, allowing riders from our barn to compete in Brazil and bringing riders from Brazil to compete here in the US. Mariana and Gabriela had a great time getting to know how shows are run here in the US and getting to know everyone else. Even with the language barrier it was simply amazing to see the kids working together, communicating to each other and just simply having fun together. They were a real team. Our US riders learned a little portuguese while our brazilian riders learned a little english by the end of the week! |
Mariana and Gabriela were joined by Jennifer Fanning, Erin Nagle and Maggie Mann forming the SDTraining Youth Team. They not only showed very well but showed a high level of sportsmanship and horsemanship throughout the whole event. I have no words to say how proud I am of riders, horses, supporters and everyone that was a part of this event. The team was always united, helping each other and even if a class was at 8am in the rain, all members were present to support the one showing. The happiness and the team spirit were present at all times, and that's what this event is about. The results also have blown me away. Riders worked hard for months to achieve the goal of just being at this important event, and boy did it pay off! The team came in 6th place in the team competition in Group A. There were about 59 teams overall divided in 5 groups, if I am not mistaken. That was simply fantastic!!!!

The achievements at the event were huge! Highlights: Erin Nagle rode Flairely Apparent (aka Tazz) and got Reserve Champion Overall on the Training Level Test 4 Division! They won 1st place on their Equitation Test with a 97 out of 100 and got a score of 68.6% on their dressage test! Jennifer Fanning rode Dreams in Motion and also achieved the Reserve Champion Overall Title of the Intro B Division, getting a 3rd place on their Equitation Test and winning 1st place on their dressage test with an amazing score of 68.8%! Maggie Mann got a score of 67% on her Training Level Test 2, and a 3rd place on her equitation test. She rode Madison and came in 10th place overall in the Division! She also got a 6th place with a score of 67% once again on her Prix Caprilli test! Mariana got a 5th place on her equitation test and Gabriela got a 65.35% score on her dressage test and won the "Later On" Award, which is a special award given every year for the highest scoring rider travelling a long distance and competing on a borrowed horse!

It was an extremelly successful and fun weekend. This was SDTraining's first team to compete at Dressage 4 Kids, and we hope the team just grows for next year. All I can say is congratulations to all riders and horses and proud family members and horse owners for an AMAZING show. Also, a big thank you to Mariana and Gabriela for coming all this way and joining us. We hope to see you both again very soon! Thanks to Lendon Gray as well for putting such a special event together for the kids. We will definitely be back next year!

So a lot has happened since our last update! After the first Beland show, we had the first Heritage Dressage Association show. Lisa Landry and Crystal had their first show ever and did very well. They got a 3rd place with a score of 56% on T1 and a 2nd with a score of 57.8%. Not bad at all for a first show! :-) Jennifer and Maverick moved up to Training Level and got a 4th place - 56.9% on T1 and a 4th again on T2 - 57.8%. I rode Tazz in 1st level test 4 and we got a 1st - 64.2% and a 1st level Freestyle 1st place - 69.16%! |
After that, we had the benefit for Courtney King show at Letter Perfect Farm in Uxbridge, MA. Jennifer and Maverick got their highest score together since the start of their show season with a 4th place in T1 (competing with seniors and trainers!!!!) with a score of 61.7% and a 6th place in T2 - 56.7%. At this show Tazz debuted on 2nd level!!! He got an amazing 2nd place with a score of 60.5%!!!! It did surprise me, even thou I knew he was ready for 2nd level. I am so proud of him, he has come such a loooong way in such a short period of time. And he stands so tall and proud competing with the big warmbloods, it is just adorable! Way to go Tazz! :-) We also performed our 1st level freestyle with a score of 61.8%. Thanks to Letter Perfect Farm for putting this event together for such a great cause. We all are sending best wishes for Courtney for a fast recovery!

Last weekend was our 2nd Beland show of the season! The stars of the day were Lisa Landry and Crystal, who achieved a 2nd place in a class of 9 riders (T1) with an amazing 62.6% score!!!! They also got a 4th on T2 with a score of 61%! Way to go girls, congrats! Hard work always pays off! :-) Erin Nagle and Tazz also debuted fantastically with a 2nd place on T4 - 60.8% (qualifying for the Dressage 4 Kids show) and a 4th place in T2 - 60%. It was Erin's first ever Dressage show and she rocked! Pictures from both shows will be posted soon! |
Now, next stop is Heritage Dressage Association, where we will bring the new member, Sterling, a 14 yo dutch warmblood for his show debut with us. Following that, we have exciting news. SDTraining will be taking 5 kids to the Lendon Gray Youth Dressage Festival at Hits on the Hudson, NY. Along with our 3 team members: Jennifer Fanning, Erin Nagle and Maggie Mann, 2 brazilian kids will be joining us: Mariana Andrade and Gabriela Daiello. This is the 1st step of our future plan of doing an exchange program between farms in Brazil and here, giving our riders the opportunity of riding and showing in Brazil, and giving the opportunity for brazilian kids to come ride and show here in the US. We already got inquiries from people from Uruguay interested in joining the program as well. It is just an idea for now, so once I get more information on how to make this program a reality, I'll post more about it. The Dressage4 kids show will run from July 9th through the 11th and I'm sure everyone will have a blast! |

We had a wonderful start on the 2010 Show Season! Jennifer and Maverick showed last weekend at Beland Stables Schooling Show and got a wonderful 61% on her Intro B Test! Both of them did fantastic even with the rainy weather! Awesome job! Now we will be off to Heritage Dressage Association next weekend with their debut on Training Level, Lisa Landry's show debut on Crystal (Miss Indi Pendant) and Maggie Mann on Madison! Tazz (Flairely Apparent) will be debuting his First Level Test and a fun Freestyle! We will see you there! :-)

News Update
In anticipation of closing on our new farm later this summer, we will be temporarily training at Wyn de Mare Stables in Plympton, MA. We still take truck-in lessons and travel to your farm, schedule permitting.

Long overdue update
Hello everyone! Simone here. I'm sorry for not updating the website in so long but it was a long and busy winter! BUT! Is everyone ready for Spring yet? I know I am! :-) And with Spring comes the exciting show season which I am going to talk about in a bit.
But first of all, I want to give a warm welcome to new member of the SDTraining Team: Maggie Mann with her cute Welsh pony Madison. I am very happy and excited you guys joined the team! Look out for them in the schooling and rated show rings! :-)
So, speaking of shows... I am very excited for this year's season! I put the preliminary calendar together and wanted to bring a few things to everyone's attention. NEDA Spring and the Beland Recognized Shows open soon. As we know, these are very busy shows and the earlier you send your entries in, better chances of getting in you have. I know 2 of you showed interest in going to these shows so let's get all the paperwork together and going... Then we have the Lendon Gray Youth Dressage Festival. At least 2 of our team members plan on going to this very educative and fun show not only for the riders but for the adults as well. :-) So I am putting together a team trip for it. Hotels get full very quick so I have to reserve rooms very soon, so if you plan on riding in it or just going with us to support our riders and have fun, please contact me so I know how many rooms to book! Also if you plan on riding in it, to be eligible to enter, you will need a score of 55% or higher in the level you plan on competing. It doesn't have to be on the same horse and it can be from a schooling or rated show, but the judge needs to be an "L" graduate. Entries open May 11th, so we have a few shows where you can get the qualifying score. Let me know if you want to attend and we will plan the level and the show where you can get that score. The beginning of the season will be a very busy one this year! The show calendar will be posted below this update.
Some of you asked me about SDTraining apparel, shirts, caps, jackets, etc... I'll be ordering them soon, so if you are interested in any items please contact me!
